WEEK 3
16/02/26
This weekend I went to the opening of the project Anne Roos as working on. Heres some pics:
I spent Monday working on the first bit of storyboard:
I also recived news that I’m accepted into the market at Playgrounds Festival in April. So for the next few weeks I ‘ll need to sort out all the prints I want to sell, as well as a make a wooden illustrated display that I’ve been dreaming of.

Yesterday I worked on further developing the storyboard but I can’t say that I’m super happy with the story. I decided to spend the rest of the week to really figure out the story and then next week is reserved for the rough storyboard before my feedback sessions.
also worked on a bit of character sketching:
Moving onto rethinking the story:
Observational drawing week3:
I looked at my older sketchbooks and I’m wondering how I can get my observational drawings to improve to look like my freestyle drawings:
Maybe slowing down, really looking at details and think about composition more. Also interpreting instead of just copying what I see.
I’m also thinking of making this above sketch into a riso print for the market.
Worked in the same style just to imagine the feel of the story:
and then worked just a bit on the new storyboard:
REFLECTION:
Writing a plot is difficult but I finally have something that I think will work. The main activity of this week: staring at a blank wall in silence. Seriously... It helped a lot when rewriting the story. I’d just draw little symbols as a way of recording my thoughts. Also the moment I’m in bed and almost drifting off is so goood when thinking about atmosphere and scenes. I was hoping that sketching more of the story would be part of my plot development but it didnt work out that way which is also okay. Whatever works, works. I’m behind on my schedule since I began to rewrite the story. I went on with the first draft becase i was worried that I won’t meet my deadline. So far my deadlines are too tight and need to be relooked at.
It was so great to see the project that I helped Anne Roos with. Next time I see her, will be for feedback and a tufting lesson.
